Iām sure youāve seen the childrenās many touching drawings of colorful rainbows with these positive words: āEverything will be okā. During the pandemic, I kept seeing these pictures everywhere, in classrooms, on the streets, in stores, in kindergarten - everywhere!
I couldnāt help be being inspired by this positive message so filled with hope and belief for the future coming from our next generations. So I contacted my favorite team in Nashville, writer and producer David Thulin and lyricist Rhyan Shirley to see if we could come up with something on this theme. Introducing: Be OK!
Due to the pandemic still ruling our lives at the time, I was unable to actually go to Nashville for this one, and thus āBe OKā was written via the Internet. As a greeting to all my followers from back in 2015 when I covered Florence and the Machineās song āSpectrumā on national TV show āStjernekampā (The Ultimate Entertainer), I let myself be carried away by inspiration from the EDM genre. Iām not much of a dancer myself, but I hope this will inspire you to put on your dancing shoes.
On Friday, March 25 at 11:00am (GMT+1) I am also releasing my new lyric video to go along with the song, and you will be able to sing along with me - AND Sauda Soul Children who are helping me lift this song to the next level.
Hereās a link if you wanna catch the premiere on YouTube: Be OK
Although it may seem a little light to release a single called āBe OKā in the midst of the world just coming out of a pandemic, facing an unfathomable war in Eastern Europe, and a seriously alarming climate report from the UN all at the same time, I believe a little light and hope is exactly what we need right now. Remember, we are allowed to sing, dance, smile, laugh and be free even just for a few minutes. No one will benefit from everyone going down mentally or physically due to the scenario we are facing these days.
I hope you will enjoy āBe OKā, and that it will be a ray of light in otherwise quite dark times here on earthšš¼
With love,
