The Queen of Soul-tour is on the road!

And what a start it was! The opening show was completely sold out, with a waiting list of people who wanted to catch the ‘Queen of Soul - a tribute to Aretha Franklin’-show! Several of the upcoming concerts already have ‘Few tickets’, and the local choirs in every city we visit are rehearsing for, and much anticipating our show.

My guest artists, Inger Lise Hope (winner of this year’s ‘The Voice’) and Elise Nærø who is onboarding in Fosnavåg and Sunndal (also a previous ‘The Voice’-participant) lift the concerts to another level with their unique performances and beautiful voices. The band is really top notch, delivering wonderful arrangements, and creating profound music experiences. I even have my favorite engineer, Erik Valderhaug, - normally viewed as the 5th musician in any band - helping me produce and carry out the content of each show to the tee. I couldn’t be happier with my band and crew, and to meet eager and anticipating local choirs at every venue adds an extra spice to the entire tour.

See you soon!

“Needless to say, I am having a really great time performing this show throughout Norway, and I feel more energetic than I have in a long time.

Needless to say, I am having a really great time performing this show throughout Norway, and I feel more energetic than I have in a long time. Learning about the life and career of the Queen of Soul to tell her story to my audience has been a real treat. There is so much I didn’t know about the artist who has inspired me, and millions of others, throughout her career spanning over more than 60 years. In comparison, my career has merely just started in with my 30-some years of being an artist in the music business. What an inspiration she is!

Getting a chance to dig into parts of her back catalogue of music which I had never heard before, it has been an incredibly interesting musical ride as well. Some of her less famous songs had to get a slot in my tribute show to the Queen of Soul, and to be able to perform these genres, I had to rehearse a lot before I was ready. After all, Aretha Franklin was compared to great singers like Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald no less in her younger years, so I’d say it’s quite a reach to try to simulate this part of her legacy.

Wishing you all welcome to see my show if we visit a place near you. Here is an overview of the rest of the tour, with links to the tickets in each venue.
